Die Bundesregierung soll die Angriffe auf die österreichische Justiz stoppen und schließlich die Rekordarbeitslosigkeit und die sozialen Folgen der Pandemie entschlossen bekämpfen: Mit einem Konjunkturpaket, einer Erhöhung des Arbeitslosengeldes und gezielten Beschäftigungsprogrammen wie der Aktion 40.000. Die Koronakrise hat nicht nur enorme gesundheitliche Folgen, sondern auch wirtschaftliche und soziale Folgen. Viele Menschen – und ganze Familien mit ihnen – haben plötzlich nichts mehr. „Diese Krise hat so viele Verlierer. Unsere Aufgabe und vor allem Ihre Aufgabe, Herr Kanzler, ist es, niemanden im Stich zu lassen, niemanden zurückzulassen! Das sagte Dr. Pamela Rendi-Wagner in der aktuellen Stunde der SPÖ zur Arbeitsmarktpolitik der Regierung in Richtung der ÖVP-Kanzlerin Kurz. Österreich gehört zu den Ländern mit dem schlimmsten wirtschaftlichen Einbruch in Europa. Seit Ausbruch der Pandemie ist die Arbeitslosigkeit in Österreich doppelt so stark gestiegen wie beispielsweise in Deutschland. Wir erleben einen Winter der Rekordarbeitslosigkeit: Über eine halbe Million Menschen sind arbeitslos, eine weitere halbe Million sind in Kurzarbeit. „Muss es so sein? Nein! Betont Dr. Pamela Rendi-Wagner. Die Bundesregierung hat viele Fehler gemacht: Sie hat Unternehmer über Nacht zu Petenten gemacht, Tausende von Menschen haben monatelang auf Unterstützung gewartet, was dann viel zu spät kam und nicht ausreichte. Niemand weiß genau, wo die 50 Milliarden Euro an Hilfe der Regierung gelandet sind, weil Türkisgrün die parlamentarische Kontrolle verweigert. “Es muss nicht so sein, und ich werde weitermachen: Es sollte nicht so sein. Die Arbeitslosigkeit und die sozialen Folgen der Pandemie müssen endlich entschlossen angegangen werden. Unsere Vorschläge liegen auf dem Tisch: Ein großer Konjunkturpaket zur Ankurbelung der Wirtschaft
eine freiwillige, subventionierte viertägige Woche zur Sicherung und Schaffung von hunderttausend Arbeitsplätzen. Ein höheres Arbeitslosengeld zur Sicherung des Lebensunterhalts und zur Stärkung der Kaufkraft. Eine Pflegestiftung zur Umschulung von Arbeitslosen als Betreuer
einfache, unbürokratische Wirtschaftshilfe. Sinkende Einkommen, steigende Mieten: Irgendwann wird das nicht mehr funktionieren! Nach wochenlangem Druck nahm die Regierung unseren Vorschlag auf, die am 1. April dieses Jahres fällige gesetzliche Mieterhöhung auszusetzen und damit rund eine Million Menschen in der Krise zu entlasten. „Dies ist ein guter, wichtiger, erster Schritt, aber es müssen noch viele weitere folgen. Weil sich diese Krise nicht von selbst lösen wird! Rendi-Wagner macht deutlich. Eines ist uns klar: Neben der Ankurbelung der Wirtschaft brauchen wir auch gezielte Beschäftigungsprogramme, zum Beispiel für Menschen, die seit mehr als einem Jahr arbeitslos sind. “Langzeitarbeitslose brauchen eine ehrliche Chance, die sie nur über die öffentliche Hand bekommen”, sagt Rendi-Wagner. In Richtung der Bundeskanzlerin betont sie: “Ich schlage eine Joboffensive vor: Lassen Sie uns gemeinsam 40.000 sinnvolle neue Arbeitsplätze für Langzeitarbeitslose schaffen!” Die Wirtschaft ankurbeln und die Arbeitslosigkeit senken – das ist eine Mammutaufgabe, die am besten gemeinsam gemeistert werden kann. „Die SPÖ ist bereit, gemeinsam mit der Regierung vernünftige Maßnahmen zur Bekämpfung der Rekordarbeitslosigkeit zu ergreifen“, betont Rendi-Wagner und appelliert an die Bundeskanzlerin: „Genau dazu möchte ich Sie heute ermutigen. SPÖ-Sozialsprecher Josef Muchitsch sprach in seiner Rede im Nationalrat auch direkt vor der Regierung: „Um diese Millionen Menschen, die jetzt weniger Einkommen haben, aus dieser Krise herauszuholen, braucht man einen Plan. Es reicht nicht aus, dies nur in Pressekonferenzen zu moderieren und zu kommentieren “, sagte Muchitsch. „In Ihrer Situation würde ich nicht immer schlecht über die Vorschläge der Opposition sprechen. Warum sprichst du nicht mit uns? Alles, was Österreich in einer Krise stark machte, hatten wir gemeinsam. Ohne öffentliche Mittel wird es nicht möglich sein, 140.000 Langzeitarbeitslose wieder auf den Arbeitsmarkt zu bringen.

Because this crisis is not going to resolve itself! Rendi-Wagner makes clear. One thing is clear to us: In addition to stimulating the economy, we also need targeted employment programs, for example for people who have been unemployed for more than a year. “Long-term unemployed people need an honest chance and they only get this through the public purse,” says Rendi-Wagner.
