Die Corona-Kurzarbeit wird auch von mehr Unternehmen wieder genutzt. Derzeit arbeiten 366.551 Menschen in Kurzzeitarbeit, 42.698 mehr als in der Vorwoche. Zum Vergleich: Ende September waren 295.000 Menschen in Kurzzeitarbeit, Anfang Juni sogar 1,37 Millionen. Das Public Employment Service (AMS) hat bisher rund 5,3 Milliarden Euro für die Corona-Kurzarbeit ausgezahlt. Derzeit sind 9,4 Milliarden Euro genehmigt. Die Auswirkungen der Pandemie und der damit verbundenen globalen Wirtschaftskrise haben den Arbeitsmarkt nach wie vor fest im Griff “, kommentierte Arbeitsministerin Christine Aschbacher (ÖVP) die aktuellen Arbeitslosenzahlen.” Die für diese Jahreszeit typischen saisonalen Auswirkungen zeigen sich auch bewirken. Bisher hat die Koronakrise hauptsächlich den Tourismus, Einzelhandelsunternehmen, Transportunternehmen und körperbezogene Dienstleistungsberufe getroffen. Derzeit sind 72.244 Arbeitslose im Beherbergungs- und Cateringsektor beschäftigt, 70.076 Menschen sind in anderen Wirtschaftsdienstleistungen arbeitslos und 56.834 Menschen sind im Einzelhandel arbeitslos. Die Koronakrise belastet den Arbeitsmarkt weiterhin. Insgesamt sind derzeit 472.157 Personen beim Arbeitsamt (AMS) als arbeitslos gemeldet oder befinden sich in Ausbildung. Das ist eine Zunahme von 5.807 Personen gegenüber der Vorwoche, wie das Arbeitsministerium am Dienstagmorgen bekannt gab. Nach Angaben des Ministeriums liegt die Arbeitslosenquote aufgrund der Krise bei rund 104.000.
