Bericht: Muhammad Amir Siddique Austria.

Almost 400 CoV infected people are currently in the hospital.

Report: Muhammad Amir Siddique Austria.

More than 4,300 people in Lower Austria are currently infected with the corona virus. The number of infections fell over the Christmas holidays, but rose again slightly on Wednesday. In the hospitals, the numbers are still at a high level despite the tough lockdown. The pictures of pushing skiers in front of the lifts or full ice rinks are also causing concern. Whether the number of infections will rise again as a result will not be seen until mid-January, says the spokesman and once again appeals to the common sense of the people to adhere to the distance and hygiene measures as well as the government’s guidelines. According to the spokesman for the State Health Agency, Bernhard Jany, the situation is still tense in both normal and intensive care units. Every fourth bed in the intensive care units was occupied by a coronavirus patient, and every third bed in the normal wards. 346 men and women who are infected with the virus are cared for in a normal ward, 53 in an intensive care unit. Since the peak of the second wave of coronavirus a month ago, the numbers have halved, but “we would have expected more from the measures of the second lockdown,” admits Jany. The personnel situation in the hospitals is still tense – after almost nine months of continuous use. Almost 400 CoV infected people are currently in the hospital in Lower Austria, 53 of them in an intensive care unit. Although the numbers have halved since the peak a month ago, the hospitals would have “expected more” from the second lockdown.
