In diesen Regionen liegt die absolute Zahl der Fälle seit einiger Zeit unter 100 von 100.000. Dies ist in Wien nicht der Fall, aber die Bundeshauptstadt unterschreitet diese Schwelle, wenn andere Faktoren wie die Anzahl der Tests, das Alter der Infizierten und dergleichen berücksichtigt werden, d. Am schlimmsten ist die Entwicklung in Salzburg, wo ein Anstieg von 29 Prozent zu verzeichnen ist. Auch in Wien ist die Zahl der positiven Fälle unter den Testpersonen mit nur 1,9 Prozent gering. Der österreichische Durchschnitt liegt bei 8,9 Prozent. Kärnten hat mit 31,1 Prozent den höchsten Wert. Es gibt auch große Unterschiede in der Anzahl der Tests. In Wien wurden knapp 5.900 von 100.000 Einwohnern getestet – ein Wert, dem nur Vorarlberg nahe kommt (4.845), in Kärnten sind es nicht einmal 700.
