Wir brauchen mehr Impfstoffe in der EU. “Wie Bundeskanzler sagt, forderte Bundeskanzler Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) EU-Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen und andere europäische Regierungschefs auf, das Beschaffungsvolumen zu erhöhen, die Produktion hochzufahren und so schnell wie möglich zu machen und die Zulassung weiterer Impfstoffe – insbesondere von AstraZeneca – durch die Europäische Arzneimittel-Agentur (EMA), die so unbürokratisch wie möglich ist. Kurz gilt daher auch die Zulassung einer sechsten Impfdosis pro Impfstoffflasche von BioNTech / Pfizer. Dies ermöglicht bereits eine Erhöhung der möglichen Impfungen um 20 Prozent. Für Österreich bedeutet dies, dass anstelle der 5,5 Millionen Impfdosen 6,6 Millionen Impfdosen möglich sind, 12.000 weitere Impfungen pro Woche, über 50.000 pro Monat. Nach Angaben der Bundeskanzlerin mehr In Österreich konnten mehr als 550.000 Menschen geimpft werden.

We need more vaccines in the EU.” As the Federal Chancellery says, Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) asked EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and other European heads of government to increase procurement volumes, ramp up production and make it as fast as possible and approval of further vaccines – especially those from AstraZeneca – by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), which is as unbureaucratic as possible. Short is therefore also for the approval of a sixth vaccination dose per vaccine bottle from BioNTech / Pfizer. This already enables an increase in possible vaccinations by 20 percent. For Austria this means that instead of the 5.5 million vaccination doses, 6.6 million vaccination doses are possible, 12,000 more vaccinations per week, over 50,000 per month.
