Die infektiöseren Coronavirus-Mutationen wurden in ganz Österreich 1.375-mal bestätigt. Die britische Variante B.1.1.7 wurde 1.096 Mal nachgewiesen, die südafrikanische B.1.351 bisher 279 Mal, wie aus dem neuen SARS-CoV-2-Variantenbericht der Österreichischen Agentur für Gesundheit und Lebensmittelsicherheit (AGES) hervorgeht. Es gibt auch 768 andere Verdachtsfälle, und 3.993 Ergebnisse stehen noch aus. Die britische Mutation B.1.1.7 wurde bereits in allen Bundesländern nachgewiesen, 471 meist in Wien, gefolgt von 189 im Burgenland, 177 in Salzburg und 115 in Niederösterreich. Bisher gab es 74 Aufzeichnungen über B.1.1.7 in Tirol, 30 in Kärnten und 14 in Oberösterreich. In Vorarlberg wurde die britische Variante nur in einem Fall sequenziert. Die südafrikanische Mutation wurde am Montagmorgen 279 Mal bestätigt – fast ausschließlich in Tirol. Dort wurde es 271 mal nachgewiesen. Es gab auch fünf Fälle in Wien und jeweils einen in Niederösterreich, Salzburg und der Steiermark. Alle positiven PCR-Proben werden mit einem speziellen Test auf mögliche Mutationen in der Virus-RNA untersucht. Bisher wurden in ganz Österreich 15.646 PCR-Screenings durchgeführt und Mutationen in 6.053 Fällen im Pre-Screening bestätigt. Die Ergebnisse der beiden Vorwochen stehen weitgehend noch aus. Verdächtige Fälle, d. H. Solche, die im Vorscreening positiv waren, werden anschließend unter Verwendung der Sequenzierung der nächsten Generation auf alle vorhandenen Mutationen eines bestimmten Gensegments untersucht, die sowohl in der britischen, südafrikanischen als auch in der brasilianischen Variante auftreten. Einige der Proben werden in der Akademie der Wissenschaften sequenziert. In ganz Österreich gibt es 465 Verdachtsfälle zu B.1.1.7 und 303 zu B.1.351. Darüber hinaus liegen die Ergebnisse von fast 4.000 Prüfungen noch vor. Die meisten von ihnen betreffen Niederösterreich mit mehr als 1.200, in Wien sind 918 Verdachtsfälle noch offen.

Some of the samples are sequenced in the Academy of Sciences. Throughout Austria there are 465 suspected cases on B.1.1.7 and 303 on B.1.351.
