Der Rentner hat einem 68-Jährigen am Sonntag trotz eines vereinbarten Besuchs die Tür seiner Wohnung in der Oberen Donaustraße nicht geöffnet. Es gab keine Antwort auf Klopfen oder Anrufe. Die Tür wurde dann geöffnet, der 76-Jährige lag auf dem Boden und Teile einer Waffe wurden auf einer Kommode entdeckt, sagte Polizeisprecherin Barbara Gass am Montag. Der 76-Jährige wurde vom professionellen Rettungsdienst betreut, wollte aber nicht in ein Krankenhaus gebracht werden. Er zeigte den Beamten bereitwillig seine Sammlung, für die er keine waffengesetzlichen Dokumente hatte. Durch Zufall stieß die Polizei in Wien-Leopoldstadt auf eine illegale Waffensammlung. Ein zuvor unschuldiger 76-jähriger Mann hatte die Waffen aus Leidenschaft für das Sammeln erworben. Insgesamt wurden sieben Pistolen und Revolver, 153 Waffenteile und 775 Patronen beschlagnahmt. Der 76-Jährige ist noch nicht in Konflikt mit dem Gesetz geraten und kann laut Polizei nicht der rechten Szene zugeordnet werden. Er sagte, er habe die Schusswaffen aus Leidenschaft für das Sammeln erworben. Er hat die Sammlung in den letzten 30 Jahren aufgebaut.

The 76-year-old was taken care of by the professional rescue service, but did not want to be taken to a hospital. He willingly showed the officials his collection, for which he had no weapons law documents. By chance the police in Vienna-Leopoldstadt came across an illegal collection of weapons. A previously innocent 76-year-old man had acquired the weapons out of a passion for collecting. A total of seven pistols and revolvers, 153 weapon parts and 775 cartridges were seized. The 76-year-old has not yet come into conflict with the law and, according to the police, cannot be assigned to the right-wing scene. He said he acquired the firearms out of a passion for collecting. He has built up the collection over the past 30 years.
